Audi fashion week was a better event that I went to see – the RAOUL FW 2012 fashion show. Lots of 60’s influence with the geometric graphic prints, houndstooth, oranges & greens, and mod dresses. I’m not a big fan of the 60’s but I can see the trend carrying on for Fall 2012 too. I liked the styling of the hair & the makeup for the models – topknot braided buns & thick doe-eyed eyeliner. And of course there were plenty of people to look at too! Ashley Islam was there, along with Dick Lee, Shabnam Melwani (from the JayGee group), of course the Benjamins, and Tallulah Harlech (fashion…
Sometimes you think people get you, but they don’t. Sometimes you think you get people, but you don’t. Everyone has their own place & time where they belong & everything feels right. You love the people & the city, and they love you back. Sometimes not. So what happens if you don’t fit?…Do you make a statement & live it anyway? Pave the way for others to follow, step up & be the leader of the pack? Great stuff from BOTB/Hellz Bellz!
Okay, so here’s more of Lana Del Rey, from her Vogue UK shoot. I’m still pretty hung up on her shoot. Her whole sweet/sexy/retro/badass look, coupled with the sweet pastels from Vuitton & all the Spring trends. It’s made me want to get a tattoo on my fingers of all things, Veronica Lake waves & some more cool rings. Craziness..! Images Credit: Vogue UK
Hmm.. came across this lookbook from G.P.P.R. via High Snobiety. Would love to hang out with this guy drinking his Jack Daniels at this very bar. a bit Badass, a bit hipster, but all parts cool! Even better, can I own the bar?? Image credit: High Snobiety
Came across this while browsing through the film screening booklet for the National Museum of Singapore. Old Mexican films in black & white. Even better, old Mexican Vampire films – El Vampiro. That’s exactly up my alley! I lean towards the strange & dark sometimes, the more different the better. But look at the visual imagery it’s given us! Lots. Too bad I missed all the films:(
I don’t really care about the controversy over this girl (she can’t really sing that well live), but she has the image, she’s signed with a modelling agency & is on the cover of Vogue UK. That’s got to say something! Just a very unique look, sound & old-school feel to her. She’s very different, and it’s nice to always discover people who don’t really care about what other people think, and do their own thing. Images: Pinterest
Inspired by the latest soft pastel fashion trends for Spring- mints, pinks, baby blues.
From the Chimera art exhibit at the Singapore Art Museum. Great vibrant colours. I love the moving peacocks with the zithers- love the colours & layers! Not to mention the Kusama & Murakami pieces. Contemporary Asian art at its best! The age of Warhol & Lichtenstien are sadly over – sorry America. I’m anxiously waiting for the Kusama exhibit to open at the upcoming Ota Fine Art gallery in SG.
2012 has been whizzing by so fast from the get-go, but it has already been amazing so far! There have been so many hopes & dreams festered in my little brain, and yet I have already seen some of them come true in one way or another. Every little thing I do, I know it all matters. I hope that you all feel the same & that this year brings you closer to your dreams than you ever thought possible! Dream big!!
When I grow up, I want to be just like her! Image credit: Pinterest
