Coachella Fashion Style 2018: Who you should be style stalking

It’s music festival season, and our favourite time of the year! Not only does it mean the start of some warmer weather, but music festivals just bring out our inner hippie, which we would love to be pretty much all of the time. Our inner hippie wants to be wearing long flowy dresses, crazy head gear and anything embellished with fringe, studs or embroidery. Best of all to be shoeless and fancy free, dancing and having a blast with your girlfriends for one of those feel-good events of the year. And hello.. Beyonce! Need we say more? One of our favourite things during music festival season of course, is to…

Okay, it’s no secret I went to Bali (you can view it all on my Instagram account). What I didn’t expect was that I would spend so much time shopping. There were literally too many boutiques in Seminyak selling lovely resort wear clothing in such bright colours & prints, that I think my brain went into overdrive. I could have spent at least 3-4 days just browsing all the shops & discovering new local labels that were made in Bali. Well, here are just some of the great picks I found during my short stay. I hope to go back & discover some more soon. Accessories:  Jewel Rocks – lovely…

These days, you can’t just wear one piece of jewellery anymore- it’s too safe & boring. Try these new, trendy ways on how to accessorize & style yourself. Once you’ve mastered that, you can read our upcoming post on how to mix prints & put them together with your accessories. How to Layer your accessories: Stacked rings- Stick with a color theme & make sure the rings match, either all gold or silver etc. You can match different types of rings – bands, diamonds, but they should be similar widths. Preferably stack up to 3 or 4 rings at the most. Layered necklaces- The easiest way to do is…

Time to get a head start with the trends from this season’s Fashion Weeks. Want to be a style star? You can find & wear these items right now. I’ll show you how – Blue All shades of blue work with almost anyone’s skin tone, but this season’s cerulean blue was a stand-out. Match with charcoal greys that were also seen on the runway.   Midi skirts This is the new skirt length for upcoming seasons! Pick from a variety of fabrics and designs (with slit or asymmetrical). But the best thing is to learn how to layer it with an even longer skirt, leggings or thigh high boots underneath.…

Highlighting some of the standout collections from all the Fashion weeks – New York, London, Milan, Paris. A handful of these collections were very well-thought out & styled, as well as being modern & up-to-date in today’s world, which is more and more focused on fast fashion and street style. No.21 Designed by renowned designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua, the collection was refined & feminine with a casual touch. Even though the pieces were intricate & embellished, they were styled for everyday wear. There was a great mix of slouchy sweaters or pants with sequined & feathered skirts, which made for an easy contrast.   Topshop Unique Showcasing a range of greys,…

From L to R: Illusion Flare Dress, Colour Bomb Dress, Panelled Pleated Midi Dress, Origami Wrap Skirt, Ruffled Up Panelled Dress Designed by Malaysian-born Han Chong, Self-Portrait is one of the new emerging labels from the UK to watch. Chong was originally part of the team from another emerging UK label Three Floor,  but has since started his own line, which dishes out really edgy patchwork pattern dresses. Okay, can I say how much I love it? The materials used are feminine with the use of lace & bright colours, but the strategically placed cutouts make the pieces one-of-a-kind. Perhaps you’ve already seen the Illusion Flare dress on none other…

I must confess I really don’t like commercialised Valentine’s Day celebrations & what V Day has come to be. I’ve never been a big fan of embarrassing bouquets, pink and expensive set menus. And I believe that a girl shouldn’t have to try too hard (or really, anyone shouldn’t). So for the outfits I picked, it’s all about looking sensual without trying to hard, no crazy bright red dresses, no fancy makeup, no “look at me” attitude. But even with these easy looks & your effortless charm, he’ll still see you as the lady he wants to seduce.   Slipdresses & innerwear as outerwear are all the rage these days,…

Pink is in again! We love the shades of pale pink, dusty pink and even Pepto Bismol pink, but you definitely can’t go wrong with this. It’s a great accent colour to finish off a black or white outfit, or as a solid coloured dress on its own. Look for minimalist designs with emphasis on structural details like darts or rounded shoulders, as silhouettes are more mannish instead of your typical frilly saccharine sweet style. Scared of all-over colour? Try it in small doses like a small clutch or on your nails. All items from ASOS.   Midriffs are also the new cleavage. I know you’re thinking that you can’t pull…

Feminine but a little off-kilter is what Felder Felder is going for. Definitely a more matured collection from their previous rocker-inspired seasons, but still something very wearable for everyone with the use of printed silks and chiffon detailed dresses.
