    LV X YAYOI KUSAMA = JESSIE J??

One of my fav artists Yayoi Kusama is doing a collaboration with Louis Vuitton of all people. But yeah, I remember watching this documentary abt Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton, and he met the artist in Tokyo some back. Her art is pretty iconic, so I think it’ll be quite a hit! The capsule collection runs for about 2-3 months at each pop-up LV store across the world. Will this be the next thing for high-end designers? To do collaborations with artists to promote their brand? Cos we all know who first pushed the collab idea, it was H&M right..? Or Target? Looks like luxury brands are really pushing for presence everywhere…

    BRIGHTSPOT 2012 & BEYOND

Went to Brightspot Market in Jakarta for the weekend. It’s a huge bi-annual market full of booths selling items that are designed by Indonesian labels and mainly made locally as well. There was everything from denim to jewellery to women’s dresses to food. Great vibe & atmosphere that gave a really unique shopping experience. Reminded me of UNIQUE LA, or some of the market weeks at the Cal mart in Los Angeles. I suppose the closest we have here is MAAD which happens like every month at the Red Dot Museum, or some of the other ad hoc market events like Public Garden &…

MUSE OF THE MONTH: ALICE DELLAL

Boy, oh boy! Love this girl.. her fierce but still very cool & sexy style. She fronts the latest Chanel Boy bag campaign for 2012. Chanel was always kind of goth/edgy in a way, wasn’t it? I could always identify with it in that sense haha:) Got to mix up the goody-goody tweeds with some edge, right? Anyway, I love the pearl hairpins in her hair!!           Images credit: Vogue.com

Trendspotting: Flap Shoulder Handbags from Celine, YSL, Dior & Chloe

Oohh.. compact, minimalistic, everyday flap shoulder handbags from Celine, YSL, Dior and Chloe, coming from a time when handbags used to be handbags instead of these wild creations we see nowadays. A classic must have to add onto every girl’s wish list, which in my case also includes the Celine Boogie bag, Hermes Birkin, Chanel 2.55, and PS1, to name a few. Mulberry Alexa Bag

Uh oh. I’m not one for It bags or even designer bags, but Mulberry has the new Alexa bag out. Named after British young celeb Alexa Chung, it looks like an expensive satchel with a braided top handle & extra long strap to hang it nonchalantly on your shoulder. Coming in a range of colors and even pink leopard print, I expect to see knock-offs of the bag being rolled out as we speak. For myself, I would probably go with the tan colored one in soft buffalo leather. I’ve always lusted over the classic Bayswater bag but the leather on the Alexa is so much softer, smoother and buttery.…
